There is a bunch of markets in London, each one on their style catering to different tastes. Whether you’re looking to buy cheap vintage clothes, alternative fashionable items, or to eat fresh world food, there is a market for everyone. The most famous markets in London are Brick Lane Market, Camden Market, Borough Market and the one in Portobello Road.
Brick Lane Market – My favorite market in London. Located in the East side, this street market holds a lively and vibrant atmosphere and a hip crowd. There are street performers, an indoor food market with cheap and tasty food from all over the world, different vintage stores and afternoon dancing clubs.
Borough Market – The food paradise. On the south bank of the river Thames, located across several Victorian arcades and close to London Bridge station is Borough Market. A destination you can’t miss for food lovers with a source of exceptional regional British and international products and a bustling atmospheric setting. Many farmers and artisans bring their goods from all over the English countryside to sell at this market, especially because London residents have a strong commitment to buying locally sourced products.
Camden Market – Funny Camden. Camden is fun and weird but a wonderful market. It is characterized by its fashion, crafts stalls, and a mix of people and foods from every corner of the world. A must-visit for alternative shopping in London.
Portobello Road – The largest antiques market in all of Europe which was made famous worldwide with the film Nothing Hill. There is a vintage piece for every taste if you are looking for souvenir or accessories.
