AIESEC‘s YouthSpeak survey results are out! The survey that aimed to better understand and enable youth mobility – as well as to anticipate what young people care about and how they envision being part of what influences the world – featured over 160,000 responses.
Some of the questions asked in the survey:
- Do you believe that the world will be in a better or worse state by 2030?
- Which issue are you most passionate about?
- If you could be paid for anything, what would you do?
- Who has the strongest ability to influence society?
According to the survey’s results, young people from all around the globe expect the world to be a better place in the future, thanks to the power of its youth to influence society.
The goals cared for the most by respondents are Quality Education, No Poverty, and Good Health and Well-Being. Results also show that young people want to have an impact in the future but feel that without support from governments, the private sector, and the media, it’s a tough task to achieve.
Furthermore, they agree that ensuring their participation in decision-making processes will be the catalyst for positive changes driven by the global youth.
These insights motivated AIESEC and its partners to launch the Youth for Global Goals campaign (#Youth4GG). This movement aims to get young people from around the world to participate and contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals.
Results will also be presented to Governments and Corporate and Civil Society actors in order to gain support for implementing procedures and projects for young people, by young people: to improve the world we live in.
