Summer is here, everyone! Which means that for almost three months, you become free, and we’re sure you don’t want to do the same old things you did during the rest of the year. During the hot season, you have the time to do the things you really like and the energy to conquer the world — or at least the dance floor at a nightclub.
We know you’re always looking for different places and new experiences, so here are six suggestions from European nightclubs that only open during the summer — or at least ones that are more enjoyable in the warm evening heat.
1. Hi Ibiza — Ibiza, Spain
Starting in Spain, we present you Hi Ibiza, a brand new club located in Playa d’en Bossa. The club that opened doors on May 28, 2017 already promises to be one of the hottest places to party with your friends to the sound of electronic music.
The club is divided into the Theatre and the Club, the two main rooms, that have impressive lighting spectacles and a venue that changes every day. Besides these two rooms, Hi Ibiza also has three open areas and it even has a DJ booth in the unisex bathroom.
In terms of music, some of the hottest names in electronic music will be there this summer, from Martin Garrix to Eric Prydz or Armin van Buuren, plus Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano. Every Sunday, the club hosts its Hi Sundays weekly parties, where you can shake to the sound of Steve Angello, Oliver Heldens, Afrojack, Hardwell, Alison Wonderland, Lost Frequencies, and Robin Schulz.
Price: Between €45-50 for entrance in parties, with drink prices ranging from €13 for a beer to €18+ for a cocktail.
Opening hours: 12am to 6am
2. Trädgården — Stockholm, Sweden
For the next nightclub, we turn the hipster level to over 9000. Literally located under a bridge, Trädgården is super popular outdoor summer club in Södermalm, an island in central Stockholm. It’s a great place for all kinds of people, from the one-drink guy to the wildest of party animals, and it’s perfect for those who crave a festival feel.
Apart from drinking beer from plastic cups, dance, and watching live performances, you can also play ping pong or pétanque.
When summer is over, Trädgården turns into Under Bron (Under the Bridge) in a two-storey wooden house, playing house and techno tunes from 5pm to 5am.
Price: Until 11pm, entrance is free. After that and until 12am, it’s around 10, and after that, it goes up to approximately €16. Arrive early to avoid the lines!
Opening hours: 5pm to 3am
3. La Terrazza — Barcelona, Spain
La Terrazza is an incredible open-air club inside a beautiful village called Pueblo Español, nestled in Barcelona’s famous Montjuïc Hill. Hundreds of international DJs have played here since it opened 16 years ago. For a night of fun and dancing to the sound of tech house with friends, this is your spot.
Price: Entrance fee of €15
Opening hours: 12am to 6am
4. Flo’ Lounge Bar — Florence, Italy
If you’re looking to visit Florence this summer and seek more than the beautiful sights, buildings and culture, this is one nightclub where you will want to spend the entire night. Aside from having the latest hits of dance music and a young crowd, it has a beautiful sight over Florence, as it is located on Piazzale Michelangelo.
This is not going to be the cheapest night out you will have, so we advise you to make the most of it by going early for the buffet and the happy hour. By doing so, you will guarantee a spot in a crowded club and offset the high cover charges.
The night warms after 10:30pm and people go wild to the rhythm of music until 4am, by talented resident DJs and internationally renowned guests who take turns during the course of the season.
Price: Offers a variety of pricing schemes, according to what you do there, like dinner, buffet or only drinks. If you opt for the latter, drinks will go for around €10 each.
Opening hours: 7:30pm to 4am
5. Lust in Rio — Lisbon, Portugal
Lust in Rio is a summer venue that was jointly created by the popular Os Meninos do Rio restaurant/bar and Lust Club. Easily accessible from the Cais do Sodré metro and train station, you can enjoy their selection of guest entertainers and DJs from May to September.
The venue promises nights of fun, good music, and good-looking people in the outdoor dance floor with white couches by the river.
Price: Approximately €4 for a beer
Opening hours: 12am to 6am
6. Ushuaia Ibiza — Ibiza, Spain
We inevitably end our choices where we began, in Ibiza, with another great open air club. The Ushuaia Ibiza Beach Hotel is located in the coast and offers some of the best beach and pool parties. With the world’s top DJs live performing, the most exclusive day and night ambience in a modern setting, this club offers all kinds of comforts, luxuries and VIP services.
If you go for the big name artists that perform in the club, a big part of them also play in Hi Ibiza, which means that if you go there for a week, you can always attend multiple parties with your favourite DJ during your stay.
Price: €20 for a vodka and Red Bull
Opening hours: Varies according to the day
