If you’ve never been to Paris, this is what it feels like. 10 typically Parisian things, perfectly captured on Instagram:
The perfectly baked bread, the scenic settings and surroundings. Eating a croissant is not synonymous of Paris: eating a croissant in Paris is about the atmosphere around it and not the actual croissant (although they’re as good as they get).
These typical beauties deserved their own space on this blog post.
If you’re still one of those people who thinks Disneyland is for kids, then I feel sorry for you. This is one of Paris’ most famous attractions and makes you go back to those childhood stories. Disneyland is even greater because it is in the magical city that is Paris!
Paris and retro bikes are old friends. The city is flat and the locals are used to cyclists around it. This is one of the famous elements of the city. @jasminetartine and @raulcabrera captured the magic behind this habit and made it eternal.
Paris is one of the richest cities in Europe when it comes to culture. Its history, the nobility, the palaces, the monuments… Paris has a story to tell at every corner. @seb_gordon captured some of those places. From the Ópera Garnier, to a “regular” French house, and to the symbolic Louvre Pyramid. Walk the streets of Paris and learn something new at each stop.
This is not something out of a Woody Allen movie, it’s actually the daily life of a Parisian. Enjoying the rooftops with a glass of Vin Rouge and just sitting there, waiting and wishing.
It’s almost impossible to miss it. It’s a symbol, it’s part of France’s identity, part of Parisians’ story. @parisinfourmonths loves it almost as much as we do.
Paris was Europe’s artistic capital in the 19th century. Vincent van Gogh, Paul Cézanne, Henri Rousseau, Pablo Picasso, Henry Matisse, Jean Metzinger, Albert Gleizes, Robert Delaunay, Fernand Léger, Henri Le Fauconnier, Juan Gris, María Blanchard, Amedeo Modigliani, Amédée Ozenfant, André Dunoyer de Segonzac, Roger de La Fresnaye and many others became associated with Paris. Today they’re gone (obviously), but the artists from those days in the belle époque until today have been expressing themselves around the city. Art is all around and always will be. @lostncheeseland, @nicolasjung and @thetenth75010‘s photos are just some examples of this artistic atmosphere blowing in the air.
Cafés are not the same as a regular Starbucks in a major European capital city. Cafés are those traditional and cosy spots where the secret croissant recipe and a secret touch of vanilla in their cappuccino make the chat with your friends and locals so much more Parisian. Just like everything else in Paris, it’s much more than what the eye can catch.
What could be more typical in Paris than the actual city? It glows, it shines, it surprises, it seduces, it’s surely enchanted! A perfect blend between the classic and modern, between the shiny and new and the experienced and aged buildings, between history and upcoming history.
Paris, the city of Love we had to include this shot by @seb_gordon
