Madrid. Possibly one of the best cities to live an Erasmus experience in the world. People, food, nightlife and culture help the Spanish capital to be a hot spot in Europe. Among all the mind-blowing parks, infinite museums and great avenues, a varied and sophisticate party culture arises when the darkness invades the city. Madrid is well-known for having some of the best clubs in Spain. Here I introduce you to some of the kings of the Madrid nightlife:
Teatro Kapital
7 floors . I repeat it: 7 floors. Kapital Madrid is, as the name suggests, the capital of the Madrid nightlife. The size of this club allows you to hear the music that you love in any of their massive floors. More to the point, it’s a lifetime experience that you cannot miss if you decide to go out in Madrid. People are aged between 20-30 and during the year is relatively easy to spot large groups of Erasmus students and tourists enjoying a night out surrounded by 3 of the top museums of the country.
Joy Eslava
Born in 1871 as a classical music hall, this space has been a theatre and a cabaret until 1981 when the club ( as we understand it today) showed up. Joy Eslava, next to Puerta del Sol, has 2 different atmospheres and is known for hosting parties for the beautiful people in Madrid. Consequently, prices for the drinks and to enter are not very student-friendly but it’s worth it. You never know if you’ll bump into your favourite actor there.
Teatro Barceló
One of the most exclusives clubs in the capital, the old Pacha Madrid, has agglutinated all the inheritance of the classy parties in the city. The music goes from the latest hits to the traditional rumba and flamenco. The decoration of Teatro Barceló is also attractive due to the stunning change between the main room ( electric blue with neon lights) and the other one, which is dominated by an intense red.
La Posada de las Animas
This club is famous for its style (chic, casual but smart) and for the atmosphere that you’ll feel. It’s a place that invites to talk, interact and meet interesting people (mainly locals). La Posada is known as well for adapting the decoration of the rooms according to seasonal themes. This club is a must-see in Madrid and its fame is spread along the country.
Opium Madrid
Recently open in Madrid, this club is fighting to become the place to be in the capital. Near Paseo de la Castellana, the decoration and being the newest trend of the Madrid nightlife empowers this club to become a spot in the agenda of every party soul. House and electro are the kings of the party . Furthermore, a lot of effort is put on this club to overcome the prestige and the fame of their “ brother” in Barcelona where Opium is the reference.
