If you’re heading to Barcelona to study at the Autònoma de Barcelona, we’ve collected all you need to know about the university.
UAB – Autonomous University of Barcelona

UAB (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona) is the Autonomous University of Barcelona. UAB is one of Spain’s leading universities and is ranked as one of the best universities in the world under the age of 50. The university is also renowned for its research department, which aids its students’ preparation for the future work environment.

Most of UAB’s facilites are in Bellaterra, just outside of Barcelona, but fear not. One of Autònoma’s highlights is its student housing complex, the Vila Universitària. A full-on, movie-style campus, where everything is in one place. Students, lecturers, researchers, everyone can live on-campus. One of its amazing student residences even has 812 apartments, most of which have a view to the nearby forest! A guaranteed experience of a lifetime for any student!

The Autònoma also has its very own research centre. The Port d’Informació Científica (Scientific Information Port) is one of Spain’s top research facilities and is also involved in several worldwide research programmes – CERN in particular (where you’ll find the Large Hadron Collider).
To get to Autònoma from the centre of Barcelona, take the S2 train from Catalunya towards Sabadell, and get off at Universitat Autònoma.
