The main point is that Lisbon is awesome. We have stated that again and again, and this time it won’t be different. Amazing restaurants, breathtaking delicacies, exquisite bars and home to some unique drinks. It’s also fairly central and close to many of the most amazing spots in the country, filled with artists, 20 minutes from mystical Sintra,
Like we said in May 2014 on our blog: “Lisbon’s startup scene is booming and there’s room for you”. This goes for Web Summit and for all the students studying in Lisbon, either Portuguese or international students.

The newest reason for Web Summit to be held in Lisbon in the winter of 2016 is:
The combined power of Web Summit and Lisbon’s student community
An event such as Web Summit is not only a “grand conclave of the tech industry’s high priests from all over the world”, like The New York Times stated, but it’s also where lots of knowledge, learning and teaching happens. An event like this can, and will, empower both domestic and international students.
Lisbon is an international city from many points of view, including the student community. These students could both learn and cooperate with such an event, making it even more relevant and rewarding for the local community.
We can even point out the perfect opportunity for Erasmus students coming to Lisbon to bring their early stage startups with them or even creating their own startup as a University spinoff. Lisbon is the city to start your own business, but we don’t need to tell you that… it’s already a given fact.
Give the right student the opportunity to learn from the best and magic will happen!
